About me
Hello, I’m Mishqah.
I work with organisations that want learning and community programmes to be relevant, practical and connected to real opportunity. I am based in Cape Town and rooted in the Cape Flats, and most of what I know about programmes I learned inside them rather than from a distance.
What holds my attention is people. What someone already carries, what makes them hesitate, what they are capable of when a programme is designed with them in mind rather than around them.
What matters to me
People are not the outcome of a programme.They are the reason for it.
I care about the distance between what a programme intends and what a person actually experiences. That gap is usually where the real work sits, and it is rarely fixed by better content alone.
I like listening more than presenting. I ask questions about context before I say anything about design, because a room in Mitchells Plain, a room in Bloemfontein and a room of facilitators all need something different from me.
I am practical. I want learning that people can use on the Monday after the workshop, not learning that only makes sense inside the workshop. That means thinking honestly about barriers, confidence, access and what opportunity genuinely exists afterwards.
I also care about quality. I will refine a workbook, a session plan or a recruitment process until it serves its purpose properly, because people notice when work has been done carefully for them.
What grounds me
Dignity, purpose and service
My identity in Jesus Christ shapes the way I understand dignity, purpose, service and responsibility. It shapes how I see people, how I serve, how I lead and how I treat communities.
It is why I do not reduce people to statistics, beneficiaries or problems to be solved. People carry worth, ability, responsibility and potential, and a programme should treat them accordingly.
This conviction does not change according to who is funding a programme or who is sitting in the room. I work respectfully with people and organisations across different backgrounds and beliefs. My faith shapes how I serve everyone. It is not a requirement for clients or participants.

I am thoughtful and structured. I prefer to understand the context, the constraints and the people before proposing anything, then organise the work so it can actually be delivered.
I am encouraging, and I will also challenge an assumption when it matters. Not to be difficult, but because a programme improves when someone is willing to ask whether it still serves the person it was built for.
