About me

I first entered this work as a learner.

That beginning still shapes how I design, facilitate and lead. I understand programmes from more than one side because I have occupied more than one place within them.

My story

In 2015, I joined the RLabs GROW Leadership Academy as a learner. In 2016, I progressed into an internship and led the first RLabs Café in Cape Town CBD. That early opportunity gave me practical responsibility for people, operations, entrepreneurship and programme implementation.

Over the years that followed, I worked across learner support, recruitment, courseware, facilitation, youth development, entrepreneurship, employability and programme coordination. I served for two years as Courseware Development Team Lead and later progressed into the final senior role I held at RLabs: Recruitment & Training Lead.

I have been the learner, supported the learner, recruited participants, created the learning and facilitated it. I have trained facilitators, coordinated delivery, led teams, worked with partners and contributed to programme reporting. That full view helps me notice the distance between what a programme intends and what people experience.

Today, I work independently with organisations, funders and development partners that want learning and community programmes to be relevant, practical and connected to meaningful opportunity.

What grounds the work

Dignity, purpose and service

My identity in Jesus Christ is the foundation from which I understand purpose, dignity and service. It shapes the way I see people: not as numbers, beneficiaries or problems to solve, but as people with worth, ability, responsibility and potential.

This conviction does not change according to who is funding a programme or who is sitting in the room. It calls me to listen carefully, serve honestly and do work that genuinely helps people move forward. My faith shapes how I serve everyone. It is not a requirement for clients or participants.
