Skills that connect to opportunity

Skills Development Consultantin Cape Town

Mishqah Gous is a skills development consultant in Cape Town who helps organisations and programme teams design practical learning for youth, adults, women, job seekers, entrepreneurs and underserved communities. Her work connects learning content with participant context, facilitator quality, programme delivery and realistic pathways beyond training.

In short

A skills development consultant helps organisations design or improve learning programmes that build practical capability. The work may include learning outcomes, curriculum, resources, facilitation, participant support, delivery systems and progression pathways.

The problem

Skills development should be designedaround use, not attendance

A completed register can show who attended. A certificate can show who finished. Neither one automatically shows whether the learning made sense, whether participants could apply it or whether the programme created a realistic next step.

Mishqah approaches skills development as a complete experience. The learning content matters, but so do recruitment, readiness, confidence, language, digital access, facilitator capability, support, reflection and the opportunity pathway after the programme.

This service focuses on practical programme and learning design. It is not positioned as a SETA compliance filing or workplace skills plan administration service.

Evidence

Experience across practicalskills programmes

Mishqah's programme experience includes digital skills, entrepreneurship, small business management, financial literacy, work readiness, project management, design thinking, graphic design, videography, web publishing and introductory web development.

Through RLabsU / DLab her contribution included courseware development, team leadership, digital skills, facilitator training and learning quality. Through Skills to Succeed and related employability work she contributed to work readiness, personal leadership, facilitation and career awareness with learners and students.

During COVID-19 restrictions the WhatsApp Virtual Micro Courses showed another important design principle. Learning must fit the access conditions of the participant. Short mobile first courses in social innovation, entrepreneurship and small business management helped reduce technology and data barriers.
